Welcome to The Sims 2 University! Part 2 Hey Folks, Its time for another T-Mail! In the real world, young adulthood serves as a touchstone in the lives of nearly everyone. So many of lifes big moments are crammed inside this fleetingly short span of time nestled snuggly between childhood wonder and adult travails that its hard to imagine theres still room left over for things like sleep and basic hygiene. Whether youre aching for the increased responsibility and added freedom that young adulthood brings (but youre not ready to tackle full-on adulthood just yet), or if you just want to recapture that vibrant time of life where just about anything seemed possible, The Sims 2 University has plenty to offer both the legitimately young and the merely young-at-heart. The cornerstone of The Sims 2 University is an entirely new phase of life for your Sims Young Adulthood. While Sims of all ages will be able to enjoy the new objects, activities and locations found in The Sims 2 University, the young adulthood life stage can only be experienced by sending your teenage Sims off to the Bacchanalian free-for-all known as collegeer, we mean the rigorous and disciplined hallowed halls of Academia! Young Adulthood occupies 20 Sim Days, which affords ample opportunity to soak up some collegiate spirit. Youll be able to indulge in all the traditional college leisure pursuits, like starting a band, playing pranks on unsuspecting Sims, hanging with buddies on the quad, and of course, keeping your Sim well hydrated with beverages (non-alcoholic, of course) at all-out ragers. Youll need to keep at least one bleary eye on your grades through all this flunk out of school and youll quickly find yourself graduated into adulthood prematurely nobody wants that! Fortunately, youll also be able to coerce other Sims more skilled in the nerdly arts to do your homework for you phew! In short, young adulthood serves as a gateway to a larger world that can seem both exhilarating and challenging. Whether or not you hunger for some higher learning, The Sims 2 University opens up a whole new world of possibilities for all your Sims, both back home and on campus. Are you ready to get schooled? They're playing with a hackysack! And their doing it as a group, not just between 2 people! I wonder what else our Sims will get to do. I wish they'd show us some new clothes, hair and decorating things. Maybe those will come in another update.
For non Americans p) ... hackysack (from Hacky Sack - a trademark for a footbag) footbag a cloth bag filled with beans or beads a game played with a footbag aim being to keep bag aloft with the feet; also known as hackysack It is similar to the soccer ball game of keepy-uppy -- but it is, arguably, less difficult ...
It look really promising...I thought you would have to live in the same room as your roommate but from these pics it looks like you don't *phew* Does anybody know if you get to design your own dorm buildings or whether you will have to play maxis made ones?
I sure as hell would THINK you'd get to design your own, given that the beds in those rooms are terrible and your Sim won't get any rest on them! As for whether or not you live with said roommates in the same room, that screenshot is really uninformative. It's possible you control several of them, since I see the skill bars appearing on more than one sim, something that only happens with Sims you ordinarily control. On the other hand, the screenshot is probably entirely fake anyway.
Just a theory ... but maybe the "dorm" as seen is actually a frat house. And one of the benefits of a fraternity is social. A student living alone might have a to spend more time specifically working on their social needs than a sim in a frat.
University life I have serious plausibility issues with the dorm shots. These rooms are clean. A clean dorm room is like Sasquatch: often talked about but rarely seen. There is no Sim screaming for the partiers in the room to the left and WooHooers to the right to shut up and let him sleep. There is no beer party. There are no WooHooers. As a student I must say these things WILL happen in University life, and should happen in the game.
I know... I know ManagerJosh, i was trying to make a joke about the picture, which shows rooms full of people studying books, working on homework, and practicing music. Not the dorm life I'm familiar with....
I do agree those rooms are unnaturally devoid of clutter for a dorm. For a house, even. A friend of mine lives in a dorm, and the state that it was in makes the place in the screenshot look like a hotel by comparison. The thing about Sims, see, is that they never leave clothes around and will always neatly store them in the dresser, in stark contrast to what young people do in real life. In my experience, clothes constitute up to 80% of the messiness in real-life rooms. The rest are usually filled by piles of consumer electronics, assorted pieces of broken objects, various articles of sports apparati, and maybe the week-old slice of pizza hiding in some nook or cranny. All of which (barring the pizza, to a certain degree) are conspicuously missing in TS2, which is why those rooms appear so intolerably CLEAN! And what's up with the teddy bear?
Right now as it stands, sims can't woh hoo in a single bed. Have we seen any screen-shots of S2U with full-sized beds. (I'm too lazy to look myself today, sorry. Baby up all night with a stopped-up nose. :bored: )
I haven't seen in any screen shots with a double bed now you come to mention it. Maybe Young adults aren't supposed to have woohoo. And where did the multi person bubble machine go? (sorry to hear about your troubling night with the baby...did you try eucalyptus oil on the pyjamas? It works for my lil darlins)
Wonder what college the game developers went to? Never heard of a college experience without a little Woo Hoo. It kindof goes with the drunken frat parties. LOL Never heard of that one. (making a note to self to go to the health-food store to get some eucalyptus oil.) Thanks hon. I'll definiately try that tonight.
I don't see how pouring oil into anyone's nose is going to unclog anything. Adding MORE crud will not help clear the problem! It's JAMMED, not RUSTY. What you need to do if you have a clogged nose is combine wire probes, flossing, and wet/dry vacuuming. Use the probes and flossing to shake loose the built up crud inside the nasal passages, then vacuum out the crud you've shaken loose.
kristal shakes head and walks away, muttering something about feeling sorry for Mrs. JMP when and if the day ever comes when he gets married and has children.
Anyway, baby slept just fine last night, slept 12 hours, which is a record when he's not sick. Thank you, mangrovejane, Okay, sorry to hijack the thread and get off-subject. On that note, I used a couple of the hours of peace and quiet to make a new Sims family and play them a couple of days. May not play them much between now and whenever the S2U comes out so that the teenaged boy can go to college. Anyone else thinking of holding off raising some of their teens so they can have "the college experience"?
