Will there be a release for the Macintosh ? I'd sorta like to get involved and develop ideas too. Personally, I want to know what the Sims Body Shop has that perhaps some graphic program like "Poser" doesn't. More or less interested with what S.B.S. abilities are. One particular thing that troubled me, is the heads are a bit too small in porportion to the rest of the body. Is there a way to Alter the size of the head, and body to include Dwarf and Giant sized ?
Sims2 BodyShop is specifically made to help process custom content for Sims2. It uses the meshes that are for Sims2. However, the meshes (body shape and head shape) can't be changed at this point. And there is only one height for each age group. The topic head says something about a Macintosh release. According to the General Manager of Maxis (Neil Young), Aspyr will be doing the Sims2 game for the Mac but when it will be out isn't yet known. (It sounds like it's now in the hands of the lawyers to work out the details.)
Is there a way that I could contribute ideas further ? After seeing the latest newsletter, which included a very "breath-taking" view of one of the Sims2 neighboorhoods... I just knew the game is going to be very exciting to play. What worked for me - is to just take .jpgs of what folks have done with the P.C.'s create-a-sim, see how well it will render on Photoshop and Corel Paint. It just feels like "touching" it - like some actual plastic toy item, almost. The thing that strikes me is the facial expressions. Found myself wanting to just "draw" (( by Wacom tablet / Stylus )) that particular style. Disney and Japaneese Anime has a particular style - and this one on the Sims2 just had that "something" I wanted to use for comixbook art. Temathi
Neil told us he's a Mac User...however all porting of Sims stuff usually falls under Aspyr's jurisdiction. I think they have some sort of contract with EA saying they get exclusive rights to making Mac Versions of their games....
