WOW you see something new everyday in TS2! I know that others have probably already seen this but it's my first time. I just happened to be at the front of a house when Lynnette Hatfield from across the river came by and stole my sims newspaper! I've seen them steal the lawn ornaments but never the newspaper. It was so funny! Then later in the same house the mother was serving dinner to her three children when the ghost of the recently deceased father floated by. Instead of serving dinner for four mom served a plate for dear ole dad too! Speaking of ghosts I think I may have discovered something. Some of you may already know this or I may be totally wrong about it. Here's my theory though: I had a sim die simyears ago. When his son grew up, he went to college and then came back hom to marry his college sweetheart. Well since mom was still living and it was only a two bedroom home I converted one bedroom into a dinning room then built a second story. Well the dad's ghost never goes up stairs! I guess because the second story didn't exist while he was alive he doesn't recognize it as being there at all. He haunts the dinning room table though and it's about where the son's bed was when he was a child. Interesting things happening! Ruthie
I don't get ghosts, I need to know how to piss one off so my sims can get their wants of meeting one.
you will probably get ghosts when someone dies on your lot and you keep the urn/gravestone there unless the sim dies in platinum. Will someone please correct me if this is not right?
No such thing as a "nice" ghost, though Dante Alighieri, who died in the platinum, was a pretty mild ghost until his second wife bought a different bed. For some reason they like their beds to stay the same.
All of my platinum ghosts so far have been "nice", if by nice you mean that they don't scream and wave their arms around, and crack their knuckles and make fists while thinking about the living family members! They still do scare people though. Between scarings, they float around contentedly. The first time they haunt after their deaths, they come back to the spot where they died and cry. My ghosts who have died by unnatural means are the angry ones.
So far I haven't had any Platinum ghosts yet but I have one Sim (called Marina Bacon) who is close to the end of her life. Ghosts don't like it much when, say, their spouse marries someone else. Most of mine tend to stay outside but occasionally they come in and haunt the bathtub or something. If they go inside I usually delete them because I've had a couple of my Sims die after seeing a ghost. Has this happened to anyone else?
I'm just glad that I seem to have figured out a way for the living inhabitants of a house to get some sleep. Since the mom has died my theory should be tested very soon, if she can go up to the second floor but the dad still can't. After that though I'll probably just begin to send all of the graves to the cemetary instead of keeping them on the lot. Ruth
My ghost didn't seem to mind that much when her hubby remarried, but she was a pretty angry ghost anyway. She didn't die in the platinum, and she loved scaring the new wife ... OK, so maybe she was upset. She got really mad when new wifey bought a different bed. Her hubby, after he died, took a lot of bubble baths. The curtain would close, then open, and bubbles and water would go down the drain. Kinda cute. He was a "nice" ghost until wife number 2 remarried and bought a different bed.
XD Well, when I got Darren Dreamer married to Cassandra Goth, Darleen didn't like it very much. Especially after they had twins (Damien and Donnatella).
On the subject of 'Wow, you see new things every day...' Has anyone had Bella Goth just walk past their house? She was from sims 1, and just before she walked past one of my Strangetown lots. Well, I thought it was cool...
She's "missing" from Pleasantview, and that's where she ended up. I love that her picture is on the milk carton when you make cereal. My current weirdness is sims who laugh at other sims when they're on a date. I've got this bartender who does that a lot. My sims aren't doing anything particularly funny, although they're often cheating on someone else ... maybe that's why the bartender thinks it's funny? Here's one: sims who beat up cheating sims on behalf of their relatives. Zaire got in a fight with both Max and Lucy on their date last night. They still had a dream date even though she kicked both of their butts. I understand why she picked a fight with Lucy, since Lucy's dated two of Zaire's grandsons, but I'm a little puzzled about Max ... he's only dated Waverly, Tika and Lucy and none of them are related to Zaire. Maybe she was just hopping mad and itching for a fight? She slapped him first, though. Sims are so weird.
I have decided not to even try anymore to figure out why my sims get mad. My romance sims cause trouble wherever they go, someone is always furious to see them on a date, and I have been driving myself crazy trying to figure out who is cheating on who to make this other sim mad! I give up! Plus it gets weirder when there are no romance sims or cheating involved. I've got these 2 married, very committed, never-having-cheated couples who don't know each other very well, and I saw last night that one wife is furious at the other one's husband. I will never be able to figure out why!
Does he use the telescope a lot during the day? That's the only thing I can think of. All of my sims spy on the same former NPC, pajama girl Brooke who I made a PC to "unvamp" her, not realizing at the time that you can influence people to drink Vamp-D without playing them. I had another sim move in with her after he got kicked out of his house. Maybe I'll play them, just for kicks, and give the others something to spy on!
He doesn't have a telescope. She does, and she might have used it during the day, but I doubt it. Anyway, none of these sims are the designated "telescope slapper" for my hood - that's Bottom Summerdream. And you know, I've never been able to influence a vampire to drink Vamp-D. They nod and then just stand there. I've used the mind control mirror to make them drink it. My vampire coven recently "adopted" 2 former NPC teenage store clerks, who were bitten while innocently tending their cash registers. I moved them in with Inge's shrub. They're a fun addition - they just met, but they have 2 bolts with each other and they have eternity to get to know each other! If my 2 "coven leaders" ever die or change back, I'll age these 2 up to adult to lead the coven.
Yes, she walked past one of my lots (Johhny and Stella Terrano) and as soon as I saw the red dress I knew it was her. I made Johnny rush outside and greet her. They are friends now, but nothing else will happen between them. Is it possible for her to move in with anyone? Maybe that way I can eventually reunite her with her family, even though she'd have no clue who they are. XD
