I just pretended.:p I downloaded stuff and Aunt Elizabeth went shopping earlier in the day and bought new clothes for everyone. Santa Claus left one present, that dreadful lot bugging toy car and I immediately deleted the thing.

Yikes! I've downloaded so much stuff from so many different sites I've lost track of where some of it comes from. It wasn't with the holiday pack. I'll see if I can figure it out and let you know.

This one I think I remember where I got it. Try www.all-about-style.com/victorian.html. Yup, that's the place. I just checked. Finding anything nice for elders is really difficult. The Victorian stuff on that site is really nice.

Thank you. I like decorating. I think I really don't want to bother with Santa Claus anymore since he's been causing problems for other people. I might have been lucky this once.

By the way, if you go shopping you can buy Mr. and Mrs. Santa outfits. And Change Appearance will give you Santa hats and beards (black or white hair.) So you don't have to bother with the glitchy santa. Dress up a household member instead.

OK, I found it at OneinTenSims2. The maker is Bettye. (She had two of the coats but not all three over at ModtheSims2.) The exact address for the coats is http://www.oneintensims2.com/Clothing%20Female/clothing_female_006.htm

I thought they'd be fun, because it's Christmas time and winter time. I'm having entirely too much fun shopping for clothes. My Downloads folder is bursting. I'm afraid it will wind up buggy. But someone around here said they had 3000 downloads and I don't have anything like that much so maybe I'm OK for now. :p

Lynet, I had a lot more downloads than I do now, last time around, but I never had any problems with clothes. The only bugs I had were due to custom furniture meshes, and once I deleted the culprits the problem went away.

Thanks for the URL! Oh no, another site (Oh, goodie, another site!).

Lola has got to have a fur coat. I already downloaded it for her. ;)

    Dear Aunt Elizabeth,

I hope this letter finds you and your family well and that you are taking every opportunity to relax during the holidays. Even though Christmas is upon us I wanted to tell you about our Thanksgiving get together. It was quite an eventful day, although it started quietly enough. Esther insisted that I rest in front of the TV while she made the dining room and kitchen ready for the feast. Felicia, Griffin and their sons Matthew and Gavin were invited to join us. We talked for awhile in the living room, catching up on the latest family news, while the turkey roasted.

Then the doorbell rang and when I went to answer it, I found Dalila and Lily. Dalila looked pale and preoccupied but assured me that she was OK and just needed to see us all again. She is so sorry for worrying you. She knows it was a terrible thing to do and asks for your forgiveness.

Griffin's young son Gavin, unfortunately, had gotten into the Christmas candy that Felicia had thought well hidden at home and he wasn't feeling well. Matthew put him to bed in a guest room where he fell asleep and missed the entire dinner. That was fortnuate, as it turned out, because my babies were born right in the middle of it. Oh, Aunt Elizabeth, the twins are so beautfiful. I am so happy. Felicia immediately took charge of the babies and ordered that they be fed and put to bed. She told me to eat something to regain some strength then sent me to bed as well. I was so excited, though, at the birth of Edda and Lang, that I just couldn't stay in bed for very long and got up again to share in the cake. If you are wondering about the names Edda and Lang they are the names of Alon's parents who died a long, long time ago. He doesn't remember anything earlier than the orphanage but hoped I'd agree to the names, and of course I do. They gave me Alon, after all, and because he is so wonderful I believe they must have been wonderful, too.

The party was fun. Felicia had one glass of wine too many and suddenly dropped to her knee and sang out her love for Griffin. I had to get a picture of that, to tease her later, but their son, Matthew, was embarressed and pretended he didn't know them. He just turned his back and threw another dart.

We decided then to put the wine away and send everyone home to bed. I'm sending some pictures along with this. Matthew took a picture of us in the living room. Then of Dalila arriving at our door. Then there's a nice one of Lily that Dalila brought with her. I've asked them to move in with us and they've agreed. Quinn is not with them, but that story is for my next letter. The next picture is the excitement at dinner! While everyone else jumped up to help me, poor Dalila calmly kept eating, oblivious to everything, thinking of other matters. Finally, a picture of Edda and Lang getting their first bottle feeding from me and Felicia. Dalila had snapped out of her daze and talked to baby Lang.

I hope your Christmas was happy, Aunt Elizabeth. From your pictures, I'm sure it was. I'll write again tomorrow.

    Love,
    Emmy

Aunt Elizabeth, here are a couple of more pictures I forgot in the first envelope. Pay no attention to Matthew's outfit. He'd just come from a party on campus. I tried to get Alon to sit down with us but he insisted on taking the pictures. And Dalila had just run off to answer the phone but you can see Lily sharing in the cake with us. It was chaos as usual with our family.

I have another letter to post to you tomorrow. Keep an eye out for it and be settled and calm when you read it.

    Love,
    Emmy

    And the next day---

    Dear Aunt Elizabeth,

You must have guessed from my last letter that Dalila has had some problems with Quinn. She insists that he has been loving and attentive to her and Lily but has gotten involved with the wrong people downtown. She loves the house he bought for her there but only recently discovered that he purchased it with stolen money. Breaking and entering, gambling, bank robbery, and worse, are all things Quinn has been up to. She has tried to persuade him away from this life of crime but he refuses to leave it behind. The money is too good, he said, and too easy. She realized she would have to take Lily and leave. She will not have Lily growing up in that atmosphere.

Now she's here with me. She brought money with her, Aunt Elizabeth. She cleared out their joint account and opened a new one in her name only. There's more than $2 million! She says it came from the gambling tables and Quinn is probably furious and looking for her. We expect he'll show up here. I'm worried. Alon has notified the police and they are keeping an eye on the house.

Oh, Aunt Elizabeth, it is even worse than this. Dalila says that something dreadful has happened to Quinn. He's changed. His skin is grey, his eyes are red and his teeth are frightening. Like Candida and the detective Sidewalker, Quinn has been embraced by the vampires who are infesting our city. I couldn't believe it, but Dalila showed me a picture as proof. She also showed me a picture of another man named Colin whom she met downtown. This man has been calling her and asking her out, and she finally agreed to meet him. He's friendly, lighthearted, and makes her laugh, she said. She's beginning to think of her future, and Colin may be part of it. In this picture, I'd say the relationship is getting serious. I'm hoping for the best for all of them. We'll see.

    Love,
    Emmy

And it was unquestionably a memorable Thanksgiving for Emmeline Livingston's family. She asked Dalila to move in and Dalila brought 2,020,000 simoleons with her.

Then Emmy had twins, a boy and girl!

    Felicia spontaneously serenaded Griffin. :p

If I'd known all of this in advance I'd have made it Christmas instead of Thanksgiving.:p

Now I have to go figure out if this Colin character is good enough for Dalila and get her to divorce Quinn. What a Christmas party that will be.

    Quinn looks pretty scary!

I wonder if Aunt Elizabeth can handle much more. ;)

Ooh, is Colin the 'Mr. Big' of your game? If he moves in, he'll add even more money to the family! :)

Wow, Quinn is really scary looking! The Maxis vamps look like jokes compared to him. I feel sorry for the sims in your town.
(wouldn't it be funny if they ran away every time a vamp entered the room or did the bleh thing).

Oh and why is she messing with Mr Big? He is so conceited.

I think Dalila's already proven she doesn't have the best taste in men.

But who knows? Conceited doesn't necessarily mean he's not nice.

Scary, indeed. The makeup makes him look like his eyes are bleeding.

Dalila hasn't asked many questions. I guess that's one of her problems. She asked him what his job was, what turned him on, and if he liked what he saw in her. Foolish girl. The answers were Professional Party Guest, perfume, and yes ;). Actually, he sounds like fun.

I went to the same site where you got the eye makeup for Skye (scary doll?). Was that Parsimonious? Anyway, the eye makeup is very red on anyone's eyes except the greyskinned vampires. It's faded out on them. But Quinn is one very ugly dude now, anyway.

    Dear Aunt Elizabeth,

I would telephone but I understand that a winter storm has brought down the lines. However, I know that I can rely on Griffin's son Matthew to bring you this letter. He's been home for the Christmas holidays but like all young men, it seems, he's eager for any excuse to get behind the wheel of a car and drive it somewhere, anywhere. Griffin assures me that Matthew is a cautious driver and will be safe on a drive to your farm. Griffin would not, however, let his younger son, Gavin, go along for the ride. Gavin would be a distraction to any driver.

My news, I'm so sorry to say, is sad. Your cousin Kiara's husband, our sweet Uncle Drake, has died in a terrible accident. One evening this week we invited Dalila's friend, Colin Hurt, over for dinner. Uncle Drake showed up for dinner as well. Poor Uncle Drake has never been quite himself since Kiara died. Even though he managed somehow to resurrect her and took her to live with him in those Elder apartments downtown, he remained always a little addled. He and Kiara never seemed to regain the love they had once felt so strongly for each other. So Drake showed up alone for dinner, and was wearing, as usual, his Llama mascot costume. He ate a little, watched TV, then left. Or so we thought.

My husband, Alon, much to my dismay, has been experimenting with a dreadful and ugly bush that he grew in our yard. It is an extremely dangerous piece of plantlife and I have begged him to get rid of it, fearing for the life of anyone going near it. But he didn't, and now the worst has happened. Alon is a careful scientist, but on the night of our dinner party, he forgot to chain the gate shut. It wasn't until the next morning when the sun rose and we were all leaving for work that we found Uncle Drake's remains around that monstrous bush.

Alon got rid of the plant immediately. There is no trace of it now. And we buried dear Uncle Drake in the church cemetery near Mom and Dad. May they all rest in peace at last.

    Love,
    Emmy

Hi, Aunt Elizabeth. I see the telephone lines have been repaired at last. How are you doing?

Good, Emmeline, good. I'm so sorry about Drake. He was a sweet man. Such a terrible way to die.

Don't think about it Aunt Elizabeth. He's at peace now.

I'm calling to ask after Dalila. How is that young man you mentioned in your letter? Was his name Colin?

Colin Hurt. Oh, dear, I wish Dalila could meet someone truly nice. She is such an innocent and so gullible. Colin is quite self absorbed. He carries a mirror around in his pocket and is always looking at himself, smoothing his hair, checking his teeth. Dalila doesn't notice or doesn't care, I don't know which.

Emmeline, vanity in a man isn't all bad. What are his prospects? His family background?

He's a professional party guest! For pete's sake, Aunt Elizabeth, I could find nothing of substance up there between his ears. He's managed to accumulate a nest egg, however. And over dinner he talked of buying a house nearby so that he could be close to Dalila. When I mentioned my work at the Medical Center he asked me to introduce him around. He'd like to abandon the party circuit and work for the hospital.

Perhaps, then, Emmeline, there is hope for him.

Well, he did shove Quinn around the other night. Quinn is not a particularly strong vampire and seemed shaken by the encounter. The fighting would have gotten more serious, though, if the sun hadn't come up and driven Quinn away to his lair.

What on earth! Quinn showed up at your house? As you feared?

Please don't worry. I do so wish, though, that it had been Quinn the plant ate, and not Uncle Drake. Quinn deserves that end. But Colin has moved in with us, too. What a houseful. I'm losing my mind. But I've lots of help with the twins, I guess. Anyway, I think Quinn is afraid of Colin now and will hesitate to come here again.

My poor little Emmeline. You are so much like Sybil. I would miss her more than I do, if not for you.

I'm fine, Aunt Elizabeth. I'm going to email you some pictures of our Christmas get together at Griffin's house as well as one or two of Colin. You'll be amused by the Christmas pictures. Our cousin Egan, Uncle Drake's son, was so shocked at the appearance of Santa Claus by the chimney that he passed out in his plate of mashed potatoes. Egan didn't used to believe in Santa Claus. Now he does. Look at the time! I've got to go now, Aunt Elizabeth. Bye

    Bye, Dear

email to Elizabeth Furley from Emmeline Livingston --

    Hi, Aunt Elizabeth

Here are the pictures I promised. First, the dinner table. You can see Egan at the far end. Next to him is a friend name Priscilla that he brought with him. You must recognize the rest of us. Alon is not at the party. The babies are so young and it was so cold outside he decided they should stay home and he would stay with them. Second, there's Matthew talking to Gavin. With Matthew away at college they don't see each other much. Then Gavin looking at the stockings, trying to find his. Then much to our surprise, Santa himself showed up and had one of the cookies! Finally, a picture of poor Egan, passed out on his plate of turkey and mashed potatoes. He swears he was just tired, but Matthew insists Egan fainted at sight of Santa Claus. Sheila Mae, sitting at the end of the table, agrees with Matthew.

The highspeed connection isn't very high in speed tonight. I have a couple of more pictures to forward in the next email.

email to Emmeline Livingston from Elizabeth Furley --

    Hi, Emmeline

I got five pictures. Gracious, Dear, was it cold in Griffin's house? Felicia is wearing a fur coat to dinner. But Gavin is barefoot and has something smeared around his eyes.

    Aunt E.

    And a quick response --

    Hi, Aunt Elizabeth,

I'm laughing now. You were right to wonder about all of them. Griffin gave Felicia a fur coat for Christmas and she wore it all day long. Gavin got a pirate's hat for Christmas because he'd seen the show Peter Pan and wanted a pirate outfit. He dressed up as a pirate all day long. He also painted black around his eyes as a mask even though Griffin suggested pirates don't wear masks like that. Gavin insisted it was necessary. Here are a couple of more pictures: Griffin talking to Santa, the Sparrow family at breakfast the next morning, then back at my house Dalila tells Quinn to leave her and Lily alone, and finally, one of Colin and Quinn who is looking like the cornered rat that he is.

email from Elizabeth Furley to Emmeline Livingston --

Emmeline, I pray you can keep Dalilia from going back to that Quinn. Every picture I see of him makes me fear for her soul.

Dalila finds a letter that had been slid under the front door during the night --

    My Dearest, my Dalila,

    Come away, come, sweet love,
    The golden morning wastes,
While the sun from his sphere
    His fiery arrows casts,
    Making all the shadows fly,
    playing, staying in the grove,
To entertain the stealth of love,
Thither, sweet love, let us hie,
    Flying, dying, in desire,
Wing'd with sweet hopes and heav'nly fire.

    Forever yours,
    Quinn

And the next night another note slides quietly under the door, but once again no one sees the hand that pushed it there --

Dalila, my love, you gaze at the stars,
and I wish I were the firmament
that I might watch you with many eyes.

    Lost in loneliness and pain,
    Black and unendurable,
    Thinking of you with every
    Corpuscle of my flesh, in
    Every instant of night
    And day.

I am forever and ever yours,
    Quinn

I want to give credit where it is due for the poetry. Neither Quinn ;) nor Lynet has written any of this. "I wish I were the firmament" is from Plato. "Lost in loneliness and pain" has been lifted from the poem Loneliness by Kenneth Rexroth. "Come away, come, sweet love," is from To His Love and the English author is anonymous

I've got lots of books.
