Troubleshooting Install Problems.

    Just an FYI, problems reported to EA Games Tech Support are given to Maxis.

    Another thing that might be a problem is having certain programs on your computer. Some things like noCD hacks can cause problems, as do some of the software to make duplicate CDs or DVDs. (As I recall, Nero sometimes causes problems.) It's best to remove those or inactivate them before installing.

    Also, when installing the game, it's important to shut down as many background processes as possible, including your virus protection. I've also found that setting your internet security to block traffic is helpful (since it prevents your computer from trying to start other business while you're trying to install the game.)
