Portland, Oregon - takes in 1,000 Katrina Survivors In process of helping the Manager for one Apartment complex paint the walls for one of 30 dwellings here on the Washington / Multnomah County area. There's some folks who came in by airplane to PDX and stationed in an abandoned High School, that's been fenced in and patrolled by guard to keep the Meth Users and Looters out. Meanwhile, some stuff is being done in Seattle, Washington - to help at least a couple more Katrina Survivors. Donated to one church bookkeeper who has property in that state to help out. I'm not really all that happy about how the media is "cut-throating" over what is important, and all the shoulds, oughts, and coulds of the moment. Actual action is the key. T.G.
